NICs: Harping on Harmony

National Integration Camps (NICs) provide a platform to NCC cadets and Associate NCC Officers (ANOs) to interact in a friendly atmosphere where the spirit of camaraderie prevail. It results in exchange of views and first-hand experiences by cadets from various parts of the country. The cadets have a free hand to display their individual talents and express their culture and traditions through presentations, lectures and cultural regalia.

In addition, quiz competitions are conducted to assess the knowledge of the cadets. At the camp, the cadets are asked to do projects on subjects like AIDs, pulse polio, tree plantation, menace of dowry, population explosion, pollution control, water conservation and management, blood donation and drug abuse to get themselves engaged in the issues of social relevance. A cohabitation at the camp leads to a life-long bond among cadets of different social and cultural backgrounds.
