  A Dream Come True
   
 

Akayaking expedition was organised by 2 Signal Training Centre (STC). Three officers, one JCO and nineteen ORs took part in the expedition. The expedition, led by Col A J Bhandary, was flagged off by
Maj Gen B S Keron, Additional Director General of Signals (TT) at Soliem Kakoda. The other officers who participated in the expedition were Col PS Karandikar CO 3 TTR, Capt A K Singh and Lt D S Lata. The expedition covered a distance of 89 km in 8 kayaks and 2 OBM via Shiroda, Marcaim, Banastari and Piligeon to finally reach Panaji Boat Jetty. The expedition team had two night halts–one at Cortalim and second at Old Goa.

Brig PKK Menon, Commandant 2 Signal Training Centre congratulated the expedition team on their successful completion of the expedition. Welcoming the team at Panaji Boat Jetty he said that this expedition would add another feather to the cap of 2 STC. It was a long cherished dream of the centre and the successful completion of the expedition showed the devotion, dedication and the spirit of the team.
