Under the aegis of 5 Mountain Division, two medical camps were organised at remote villages of Jigaon and Nafra under Bomdila district of Arunachal Pradesh. The camps were inaugurated by Maj Gen Dev Raj Singh, GOC, Ball of Fire Division. Mr Japu Deru, Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Deputy Commissioner and District Chief Medical Officer of Bomdila district attended the medical camps.

A total of 1241 patients attended the medical camps. Lab and X-ray facilities were extended to them. All the patients were treated and followed up. Family planning and immunisation services were also provided. A health exhibition was held to educate the people on various prevalent health problems and communicable diseases.

The medical team consisting of six medical officers, one dental officer and 30 para-medical staff was led by Col KK Gupta, ADMS, Ball of Fire Division. A team consisting of medical superintendent and two medical officers including a lady MO from district civil hospital extended co-operation.

Veterinary aid was also provided at the camps and 81 animals were treated. Prophylactic vet medicines were distributed for 2590 animals at the camps by 73 MFVH.

The response was overwhelming. The GOC, Ball of Fire Division interacted with villagers and assured them that more such camps would be held for the benefit of the people in remote villages.
