The
passing-out parade of 289 recruits of 55th course of Jammu and Kashmir
Light Infantry (JAK LI) was held at JAK LI Regimental Centre, Dhansal. The
young daunting soldiers of the regiment hailing from all parts of Jammu
and Kashmir took oath in unisons to serve the supreme cause of the nation.
Their ceremonial ardour and salute to the tricolour with the national
anthem playing inspired patriotic vigour in one and all present on the
occasion. Col SP Singh, Commandant, JAK LI Centre reviewed the parade.
The
recruits groomed into the life of soldiering have been rigorously trained
in various activities including tactics, firing and physical and mental
build-up. Recruit Rajinder Kumar was adjudged the overall best and
presented with Sher-E-Kashmir. Recruit Sheikh Abdullah was awarded
sword of honour.

A
two-day 'Aftersales Service Mela-Cum-Product Exhibition' was organised by
the Canteen Stores Department (CSD) at Girinagar in Kochi. The exhibition
also offered service of the branded items, apart from their sale. It was
inaugurated by Cmde Alan O'Leary, CSO (P & A), Headquarters, Southern
Naval Command, Kochi.
Ms
Santha K Nair, Area Manager, CSD, presided over the function. Right from
Hero Honda's Passion to Kissan mixed fruit jam, the exhibition displayed
many consumer items. Around 35 stalls had been installed by different
companies such as Bajaj Electricals, LG Home Appliances, Samsung
Electronics, Hindustan Lever Ltd and MS&S Hero Honda Sales &
Service.
