Heroes of 1965 war and operation Rakshak were remembered at a solemn ceremony held in Udhampur. Badges of Sacrifices Balidan Padak and certificates of honour Samman Patra were presented to Mrs Raj Kumari, wife of late Nk Kashmir Singh, Mrs Pushpa Devi, wife of late Sep Jagdish Kumar of the Dogra Regiment and Mrs Anjuwala, wife of late Sep Bishan Singh of Rashtriya Rifles.

Brig Sunil Arora, Sub Area Commander presented the badges to the next of kin as a mark of respect to the martyrs. Mrs Neelam Arora, President, AWWA (Local) presented gifts to the war widows. All war widows, ex-servicemen and retired officers of Dogra Regiment hailing from Udhampur district attended the function. A lecture on Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme was also organised for the ex-servicemen o the occasion. A barakhana for all the invitees was also held which was attended by the serving officers from the station units of Northern Command.
