Towards the goal of univer- salisation of education, a study center of National Open School (NOS), known as AI-3201, has been doing a commendable job. It has been imparting education at secondary and senior secondary levels to all North- Eastern tribal groups. This NOS agency, registered with Eastern Command Education Society, is being administered by Eastern Command HRDC, HQ 101 Area.

A large number of poor people of North-East, rural or urban, unemployed or part-time employed, under-matriculates or school drop-outs and combatants or non-combatants are flocking to AI-3201 to get benefit from this unique kind of school. This agency has been helping those who could not pursue their studies in the formal school system.

AI-3201 conducts three types of classes ie Foundation/Bridge Course, Secondary Certificate Course and Senior Secondary Certificate Course. It has developed an educational training programme to teach all subjects prescribed by NOS, Delhi. It conducts contact programmes on Sundays from October to March every year. Instructors from Army Educational Corps teach the students. Besides typewriting and computer classes, practicals in all science subjects are also conducted by this study centre. The medium of teaching is Hindi and English and the study material is provided by NOS HQ.
