A
National Integration Camp of NCC was held at Beriganga in
Jodhpur. While speaking on the occasion, the Camp Commandant,
Lt Col Harbhajnik Singh highlighted the importance of NCC in
national development. He appealed to the cadets to contribute
their services for the national development. The Deputy Camp
Commandant, Lt Col Jaswant Singh explained the importance of
good character, discipline and social service in
self-development and the development of society.
About 400 NCC cadets
from 16 NCC Directorates participated in the camp. Various
competitions and other activities were organised at the
National Integration Camp. The cadets were taken to various
historical places in Rajasthan which exposed them to the
culture and heritage of Rajasthan. The cadets were taken to
Air Force Station to witness the technical prowess of fighter
aircraft and other equipment.
The cadets were taken to
Mehrangarh Fort, Ummed Bhawan Palace, Balsamand Pake Mandore
Garden and Jaswant Thada. They were taken to Osian to see
grandeur of its majestic sand dunes and sunset.
The cadets spent a day
at Surpura village to acquaint themselves with life in a
Rajasthan village. Here, they undertook a social service
programme and tree plantation.

Chancellor, JNV University, Jodhpur took the salute as chief
guest at a special NCC parade. All ANO’s of Jodhpur group
and cadets were present on the occasion. The chief guest
appreciated the role of NCC in nation -building and social
service. He gave away prizes to cadets who had excelled in
various activities. Blood and eye donation camps, anti-dowry
pledge and pledge to become a good citizen marked the
occasion. The camp also organised Flag Area Competition on
"Education in India and Evils of Society". A
painting competition was also organised on information
technology and population explosion. The Vice Chancellor,
being an honorary Colonel, was given a ceremonial guard of
honour at the camp quarter guard. He also reviewed the camp
kit and the tent layout.
The cadets were taken to
Army Cantonment for witnessing an Army equipment display. They
were introduced to the latest weapons in the Indian Army. A
lecture competition, a workshop on AIDS and an interactive
quiz were conducted.
