Anniversary Celebrations of Sikh LI

The 29th raising day celebrations of the 11th battalion of the elite Sikh Light Infantry concluded somewhere in the Central Sector.

The highlight of the three-day celebrations was special sainik sammelan. It was attended by three former Commanding Officers namely Lt Cols KS Bindra, KS Dayal and V Raghavan.

Addressing all ranks, Col VK Mahajan, the Commanding Officer, commended them for having served at the Siachen Glacier, the highest battlefield, with grit and determination thereby attaining moral ascendancy over the enemy. During their tenure in other parts of the country it was their mettle and professional competence which worked, he added. He expressed the confidence that officers and men of the battalion which is known as "Steel Fist" would continue to enhance the glory of the battalion and thereby of their regiment.

Prizes to the winners of various competitions conducted during the past year were also distributed.
