Tribute to a Great Patriot

The residents of Melyal and nearby villages located in remote corners of Kupwara district in Jammu and Kashmir were not getting due medical care due to lack of adequate medical and specialist facilities. Prevailing militancy situation in the region had further aggravated the conditions as civil doctors were quite apprehensive visiting the areas.

HQ 68 Mountain Brigade took upon itself the task of organising medical camp in village Melyal with a view of alleviating the problems of local population. HQ 28 Infantry Division immediately ordered release of Sadbhawana Medicines worth Rs 11000.

A medical camp was organised recently in which a total of 1129 patients were treated. Eight doctors (both civil and Army) including three specialists rendered their services. Pathological laboratory and family planning education cell were also established. Free conveyance, canteen facilities and light refreshment to waiting patients and their relatives were also provided.
