Prithvi-II
Test Flight
The
Prithvi-II surface-to-surface missile with a 250 km
range had a successful test flight in the operational
configuration. It was launched from the Interim Test Range (ITR),
Chandipur, Orissa and the flight was monitored with shore and
ship instrumentation.
Air
Marshal Sekhon, AOC-in-C, Southern Command and Maj Gen CB
Sukhu, ADG (Arty) witnessed the event. Prithvi Project
Director, Dr VK Saraswat and Mr SC Narang, Director, ITR said
that there was an excellent match between planned and actual
flight parameters. Dr VK Aatre, Scientific Adviser to Defence
Minister congratulated all scientists and engineers associated
with the development and production of the Prithvi.
