The Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Maintenance Command IAF, Air Marshal SS Gupta called on the young soldiers of the Brigade of the Guards to uphold the traditional valour of the regiment. He was addressing the passing-out parade of Course no 26 at the Jadunath Parade Ground at the Guards Regimental Centre (GRC), Kamptee. Earlier, the Air Marshal was received by the Commandant GRC, Brig Tejinder Singh and conducted to the review dais. The recruits then presented the general salute and marched past the dais in perfect unison, seeming one in their smartness, turn-out and steps.

Air Marshal Gupta presented awards to the outstanding Guardsmen in the varied fields of firing, academics and drill. The coveted Field Marshal KM Cariappa Medal for the best overall performance in the course was awarded to Guardsman Devender Singh of Shivaji Training Company. Other recipients of awards included Guardsman Subhash Chand of Cariappa Training Company.
