A People - Friendly Army

 

 

As a part of the ongoing efforts of the Army to provide relief and succour to the poverty-sticken public of the villages close to the Line of Control, a brigade level medical-cum- veterinary camp was organised by 10 Sikh LI at village Trikanjan in Baramula district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Brig V K Ahluwalia, Commander, Pir Pangal Brigade (Dagger Division) inaugurated the camp and interacted with the villagers. A team of doctors including dentists attended to nearly 1000 patients. Veterinary care was also provided to 200 animals.

The local sarpanch addressed the gathering and profusely thanked the Commander and the unit on behalf of the villagers for organising the camp and extending all help to the poor and needy from time to time.

A cultural programme was also organised on the occasion by the school-children. Sweets, stationery items and sports equipment were distributed by the Commander among the children. Tea and food was given to all those present.
