Central Advisory Committee (CAC) for NCC


CENTRAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE (CAC) FOR NCC

 

The Central Advisory Committee (CAC) for NCC has been constituted under Section 12 of the National Cadet Corp Act, 1948 for the purpose of advising the Government on matters connected with the policy and administration of NCC.  The composition of CAC is as under:-

(a)

Raksha Rajya Mantri

(b)

Secretary, Ministry of Defence

Ex-officio Member

(c)

Secretary, Ministry of Education

-

Ex-officio Member

(d)

Financial Advisor, Defence

-

Ex-officio Member

(e)

Chief of the Army Staff and Commander-in-chief, Indian Army

-

Ex-officio Member

(f)

Chief of the naval Staff and Commander-in Chief, Indian Navy

-

Ex-officio Member

(g)

Chief of the Air Staff and Commander-in-Chief, Indian Air Force

-

Ex-officio Member

(h)

Five non-official members to be nominated by the Central Government; and

(i)

Three members of Parliament of whom two shall be elected by the House of the people and one by the Council of States.

Member of Parliament elected under NCC Act, 1948 shall hold office for a period of one year from the date of his election or until he ceases to be a Member of the House which elected him, whichever is earlier.  Presently, Shri Madan Lal Sharma and Shri Rakesh Singh, Members of the Lok Sabha have been duly elected to serve as Members of the CAC for NCC for a term of one year w.e.f. 31st August, 2012.  Shri Husain Dalwai, Member of Parliament who was elected by the Rajya Sabha to be a Member of the CAC for the period from 9th December, 2011 upto 8th December, 2012 will complete his term of office on 8th December 2012.

Presently, there exists as many as five vacancies of non-official Members of the CAC for NCC
